Description
We are happy to introduce our new Garagistic E30/E36/Z3 NON-M Polyurethane Front Control Arm Bushings for E46 Control Arm Conversions! The E46 control arms have a hexagon shape where they are installed into the FCABs. Traditionally when doing this modification, the hex on the E46 control amrs would have to be sanded down to a smooth cylindrical shape to fit the E30/E36 FCABs. Our bushings are already designed for the hex shape of the E46 arms to make the installation a simple plug-and-play. Unlike most E30/E36/Z3 FCAB mounts for E46 control arms on the market which are offered only in solid aluminum and can be a little too “racecar” for a street-driven BMW, we decided to make a polyurethane version for street cars so you can get all the benefits of the E46 control arms while not decreasing your ride quality. That said, our polyurethane comes in either 80a or 95a durometer which is roughly 30-40% stiffer than OEM rubber mounts. This translates to more predictable and responsive steering! For those of you who want no compromises in performance, we also offer this bushing in billet aluminum. And for those who want a complete billet option we offer our treehouse style mounts in both centered and offset geometry.
The Garagistic E30/E36/Z3 non-M front control arm bushings for E46 Control Arm conversion feature a 2 piece design with a solid Delrin center sleeve and polyurethane or aluminum outer bushing which helps to ensure a precision fit around the hex-shaped E46 control arm, while also allowing the bushings to fit an OEM E30/E36/Z3 front control arm lollipop housing! Our hex inserts have a grease channel which helps keep the insert well lubricated to reduce any noise or squeaking! Polyurethane front control arm bushings are a great upgrade for any street or performance car and improve the overall steering feel and sensitivity of your car’s handling. Please Note: There are two types of E46 front control arms, a standard, and a heavy-duty (HD) version. The standard arm will have a 21-22mm hex snout and the HD arm has a 24-25mm snout. Please choose which diameter hex your car is equipped with so that we can provide the correct insert for your bushings. No modification or filing of your control arms required!
